Friend Electric Car 2023

FRIEND ELECTRIC CAR CAPS OFF ANOTHER SUCCESSFUL SEASON

Friend Electric Car Has capped off another successful season.  Their first race, April 15th  in Lincoln, was canceled due to weather.  They then traveled to Pacific Junction Iowa.  Car 12 finished second and car 13 ended up 4th both cars had some mechanical problems that hindered their ability to to perform.

April 29 the team headed to Hastings Motorsports Park.  They had a very good showing with the 13 car taking 1st and car 12 taking second both completing 33 laps with the 13 car falling 4 seconds short of matching the track record which Friend set in 2021 on the 1 mile enclosed road course.

May 6 the final race of the season was held in Wayne.  Friend again performed well, car 13 had a lot of problems blowing back tires and spent much of the race in the pits.  The pit crew changed the rear tire 3 times so was only able to complete 92 laps on the .23 tight oval.  The team and coach learned from the experience and the problem will be solved next year.  Car 12 performed well taking home 1st overall in the endurance race completing 146 laps, 8 laps better than 2nd place Wayne.  Other awards received at Wayne include Best Pit Crew, car 13 Best Paint Job, with car 12 taking home the Highest Season Mileage Award.

The team represented Friend Public School with class and truly made their coach proud!
