Jr. High EMF Football Season Summary

2019 EMF Junior High Football SUMMARY

Game 1 @ Diller Odell-  Win 76-8  The Defense was very aggressive and tackled well.  The D and O lines dominated with the First team D allowing 0 points.  Rushing offense was explosive with 9 EMF players scoring. The 2nd team scored multiple times once on a long pass play.

Game 2 @ Thayer Central-Win 44-30 Thayer Central was a very tough team, they had multiple players over 6 feet tall and were very fast and strong.  It was a back and forth game with lots of big plays on both sides. With the help of a kickoff return for a touchdown as time ran out in the first half and being able to sustain long drives in the second half EMF was able to come out on top.

Game 3 @ Friend vs Meridian- Win 82-8  EMF overwhelmed Meridian from the start able to have their way in all phases of the game.  Our starting running backs were often untouched while running for long touchdowns almost every time they touched the ball.  The younger guys played most of the game and scored on most drives while continuing to stymie the Meridian offense.

Game 4 @ Henderson- Win 52-22  EMF built a big lead quickly shooting out a 30-0 lead by the end of the 1st quarter.  The younger players again played the whole second half, much of the time against the Heartland starters and still managing to score.

Game 5 @Milligan vs Giltner- Win 54-16  EMF again dominated from the start deceiving and overpowering the Hornets both on offense and defense.  The younger players again got a lot of playing time.

Game 6 @ Osceola vs OHP- Win 66-12  EMF cruised to the win again our starting 1 back had 4 carries for 4 touchdowns never getting tackled.  The team overcame a stacked 6 man defensive front and still ran wild as the EMF Offensive line dominated and the backs ran hard braking many tackles.  The younger players again played the whole second half.

This team had a lot of talent and was very coachable striving to get better every game.  When one of our starting running backs was injured for 4 games players stepped up and worked to take his place.  These guys were truly a joy to coach. Thanks to the parents who supplied food for the away games. This season was a blast!
