Norman Kohout Scholarship

NORMAN KOHOUT SCHOLARSHIP
Mr. Kohout was born and raised in Friend, Nebraska, where he graduated from high school in 1963. Norman completed courses in electricity and drafting at SCC Milford, served his country during Vietnam with the United States Army, and returned to his community as a life-long farmer and caregiver of the land. His generous donation to the Friend Public School Education Foundation will help support the youth of this community as they pursue college and career goals.
Eligibility Requirement

Friend Public School graduating senior who plans to enroll in an agriculture, agriculture-related, or technical field at a 2 or 4-year college.
Scholarship Details

$1,000 award, renewable each calendar year for up to 4 years

Recipient must submit an official college transcript to the Friend Public School Education Foundation after EACH completed quarter/semester.

Recipient must also submit to the Friend Public School Education Foundation a copy of class registration for EACH quarter/semester, beginning with the second quarter/semester in which he/she is enrolled.

Recipient must maintain a 2.0 college GPA.

Recipient must maintain full-time student status.

Recipient must remain in an agriculture, agriculture-related, or technical field.

Award money will be given directly to the college after required paperwork (official transcript and proof of enrollment) has been submitted to Friend Public School.

The number of scholarships to be awarded and the disbursement of funds will be determined at the discretion of the Friend Public School Education Foundation.
