  The Walter Scott Jr. Career Pathway Scholarship supports students pursuing up to a two-year degree in skilled and technical fields of study. This scholarship covers full tuition and fees, plus room and board for up to four consecutive semesters. We’ll also help guide the way with:

  Becoming a Scott Pathway Scholar

  The Walter Scott Jr. Career Pathway Scholarship is designed to prepare students with the technical, social, emotional, and problem-solving skills necessary to excel as STEM leaders in their chosen professions. Scott Pathway Scholars will engage in an educational experience that integrates both curricular and co-curricular learning.

  The program provides recipients:

  • The potential to receive full tuition and fees, plus room and board for up to four consecutive semesters
  • Potential to apply for additional funds for books and tools
  • A Scott Pathway director at the Milford Campus to assist students programmatically, socially and with career development
  • Special enrichment opportunities to support learning and career development outside of the classroom, including a summer bridge program

  Scott Pathway Scholars must meet the following criteria:

  • Live on the Milford Campus in a dedicated living-learning environment
  • Enrolled in classes at the Milford Campus
  • Maintain a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 2.0
  • Register for 12 or more credit hours per semester
  • Attend career development activities
  • Meet regularly with the Scott Pathway director and success counselor
  • Participate in a paid sponsorship, internship, apprenticeship, or employment in a program-related field
  • Meet eligibility requirements to work in the United States

  Preference will be given to students with a demonstrated career interest and program alignment, proven resiliency and work ethic, and financial need as determined by the FAFSA. However, financial need is a preference, not a requirement.

  Scholarship Application Period

  The Walter Scott Jr. Career Pathway Scholarship is intended for high school seniors planning to enroll in a qualifying program of study at SCC in the fall. To apply, applicants should complete the High School Seniors application which is open from December 1 – March 1 of each year.
