Smithfield Foods, Corp. Scholarship
Deadline: February 22, 2023
Smithfield Foods, Corp. is offering scholarships for seniors of the 2022-2023 graduating class of local high
schools. Each school is eligible for four scholarships: two valued at $1,000 each and two valued at $500
each. One alternate winner will be named. The scholarship will be open to students pursuing higher
education in any field of study.
Eligibility
Applicant must meet the following eligibility criteria:
● A 2022-2023 high school graduate
● A student-employee or a child or dependent of the Crete Smithfield Foods, Corp. employee
● A cumulative GPA of 3.0 (B) or higher
● Attend a 2-year or 4-year technical school, trade school, college, or university
● Complete the approved application form
Application Criteria
Applicants must address all the following in their application:
● Cumulative Grade Point Average
● Volunteer Service and/or Community Activities
● School and/or Work Activities
● An Essay
o In 250 words, or less, answer the following question:
“How will the Smithfield Foods, Corp. Scholarship help you acquire skills that would enable you to return
to live and work in the Crete area?”
Please return the completed application form, essay, and any accompanying documents to the High School
Counselor on or before 4:00 P.M. Wednesday February 22, 2023.
