Hey All, My name is Amy Tomlinson and I am the Agricultural Educator for Friend Public Schools and Exeter-Milligan Public Schools. I am also the FFA Advisor for the EMF FFA Chapter. I am currently in my 18th year as an Agricultural Educator and this is my second year at Friend. Prior to becoming a part of the Friend Staff I worked for the Nebraska Department of Education as an Education Specialist and the State FFA Advisor. I grew up in Southern California in a town called San Juan Capistrano. I lived there growing up and continued my education at Cal Poly Pomona. I received my Bachelors Degree in Agriculture Science and then received my Teaching Certificate in Single Subject Agriculture 7-12 with a Cross-Cultural Language Acquisition Development Endorsement. In 2007, I began work on my Masters Degree through Texas Tech University and completed my degree in 2010 in Agricultural Education and Communications. Before moving to Nebraska in 2008, I taught for five years at Holtville High School in the Imperial Valley and then spent 2008-2018 at Sandy Creek Public Schools. I am so thankful to be able to work with students every day and show them my love for the agriculture industry. We are beginning to have a very active FFA chapter and hope to continue down this road of moving the chapter forward. This fall my last name will officially be changing to Kohtz as I will be getting married at the end of November. If you ever have any questions about FFA or Ag Ed here at Friend please feel free to reach out.
